Across Every Segment

Building a specialty pharmaceutical company that genuinely serves clinicians — rather than just listing products for them — requires a choice that many pharma companies avoid: depth over breadth. It means developing a portfolio not by asking “what can we manufacture?” but by asking “what does the specialist actually need, and can we deliver it to the quality standard their patients deserve?”

Over the past several years, Quinek Life Sciences has built exactly this kind of portfolio — across five high-value, high-complexity therapeutic segments, each developed with the clinical depth that specialist prescribers require and the WHO-GMP certified manufacturing quality that patient safety demands.

This article is a complete overview of our specialty segment portfolio — what each segment covers, why we chose it, what our key formulations are and what it means for the specialists and distribution partners who work with us.

Why Specialty — The Case for Depth Over Breadth

The Indian pharmaceutical market is dominated by generalist companies — broad portfolios spanning dozens of therapeutic areas, thousands of SKUs and vast distribution networks built on volume. This model works at scale. But it is not what specialist prescribers need.

A gynaecologist managing a patient with recurrent miscarriage needs a pharmaceutical partner who understands the clinical nuance of progesterone supplementation — the difference between dydrogesterone and micronised progesterone, between vaginal gel and oral SR, between initiating therapy at confirmation of pregnancy and starting in the luteal phase. A nephrologist managing a CKD patient on dialysis needs formulations that have been developed with renal physiology in mind, not just renally adjusted doses of standard products.

Specialty pharma is different from generalist pharma — in the same way that specialist medicine is different from general medicine. Quinek is built for specialists.

“A specialist prescriber does not need a thousand products. They need the right fifty — manufactured to the right standard, supported by the right clinical evidence, and available reliably when their patient needs them.”

Segment 1 — IVF & Fertility

India has over 1,400 IVF centres — among the highest globally — and an infertility rate estimated at 10–15% of couples. The IVF pharmaceutical market is highly quality-sensitive: gonadotropin potency, progesterone bioavailability and HCG precision directly affect cycle outcomes. This is not a segment where substandard manufacturing is an acceptable commercial trade-off.

Our IVF & Fertility portfolio covers the complete clinical cycle — from ovarian stimulation through trigger injection, endometrial preparation and luteal phase support. IVF specialists can manage the full protocol with Quinek formulations from a single certified partner.

KEY IVF FORMULATIONS

GY-Fish 75 / 150 — FSH 75 IU / 150 IU · Ovarian stimulation

Ezi-Trone INJ — Medroxyprogesterone Acetate 150mg/ml · Injectable luteal support

Segment 2 — Gynaecology

Women’s health in India spans an enormous clinical range — from the 50 million women with PCOS to the thousands managing endometriosis, from pregnant women requiring progesterone support to perimenopausal women navigating hormonal transition. Our Gynaecology portfolio is one of the most comprehensive in the specialty pharma space — built to serve the full breadth of a practising gynaecologist’s clinical needs.

Segment 3 — Nephrology

CKD affects approximately 17% of the Indian population — most of them undiagnosed. When diagnosis occurs, the pharmacological burden is significant: renal anaemia, bone mineral disorder, electrolyte management, dialysis nutrition and nephroprotection all require concurrent management. Renal patients have virtually no margin for pharmaceutical quality failure.

Our Nephrology portfolio is built around the key clinical needs of the CKD and dialysis patient — with WHO-GMP certified formulations across all major complication management areas.

NEPHROLOGY COVERAGE AREAS

Renal anaemia — iron supplementation · B12 & folate support
CKD-MBD — phosphate binders · active Vitamin D · calcium management
Dialysis nutrition — renal-specific nutritional support
Nephroprotection — renoprotective & antioxidant formulations
Electrolyte management — potassium · sodium · bicarbonate

Segment 4 — Urology

Urological conditions are among the most prevalent and most undertreated in Indian adult medicine. UTIs are among the top 5 most common infections. BPH affects over 50% of Indian men above 60. Renal stone disease has a 12% population prevalence. Yet urological care — particularly outside metro centres — remains significantly underserved.

Our Urology portfolio addresses the highest-prevalence urological conditions with certified formulations across anti-infective management, BPH, stone disease and male sexual health.

KEY UROLOGY FORMULATIONS

UTFOS — Fosfomycin Trometamol 3g sachet · Single-dose UTI treatment
BPH management — alpha-blockers & 5-ARI formulations
Renal stone disease — urinary alkalinisers & stone dissolution support
Male sexual health — PDE5 inhibitors & testosterone support
Bladder health — overactive bladder & urinary incontinence management

Segment 5 — Neuropsychiatry

India’s neuropsychiatric disease burden is vast — 10 million people with epilepsy, 56 million with depression, 38 million with anxiety disorders, and an 80–90% treatment gap across mental health conditions. Neuropsychiatry is also the most quality-demanding segment pharmaceutically — anti-convulsants, antidepressants and antipsychotics are narrow therapeutic index drugs where bioavailability consistency is directly linked to clinical outcomes.

Our Neuropsychiatry portfolio is built for the precision this specialty demands — covering epilepsy, neuropathic pain, depression, anxiety, psychosis and neurovitamin support, all manufactured under WHO-GMP certification.

KEY NEUROPSYCHIATRY FORMULATIONS

DPROKS 250 / 500 — Divalproex Sodium · Broad-spectrum anticonvulsant · Migraine prophylaxis
